Sponsorship Program
The Greyhound Pet Adoption Northwest Sponsorship program cares for
Senior Greyhounds and Special Needs Greyhounds that are older or
have complicated medical conditions. Because these Greyhounds
require extra care, their stay in our foster homes may be longer
than most. We accept any Greyhound in need, whether the dog was
originally placed by Greyhound Pet Adoption Northwest or not.
Greyhound Pet Adoption Northwest accepts into its foster program any dog with an
injury, disease or just old age. This arrangement has enabled these
Greyhounds to get the special monitoring they need to find the
appropriate medical treatment for each dog. If a senior aged
Greyhound does not find an adoptive home, we will care for that dog
for the rest of it's life in a loving foster home. Every Greyhound
in our program is treated with love, caring and the best medical
attention available.
We know that not everyone is able to adopt or foster a Greyhound but
you can still help these beautiful creatures. You can become a
sponsor for the special dogs in our foster program. Sponsor a
Greyhound for yourself or in someone else's name as a gift or
memorial. Sponsorship can be rewarding for birthdays, anniversaries,
school classrooms, retirement home residents and others who can't
adopt their own Greyhound but want to be a part of our effort.
You CAN and WILL make a difference in the life of a Greyhound in
need of special care. Your help and support will make a difference .

Leader is an epileptic and is being treated with
medications, which are keeping his seizures under
control. Leader thinks he is 3 and loves to play in the
yard. Leader greets everyone as if they were a
long-lost friend.

Milo

Age: 6
Size: 82 Lbs.

Milo came to GPA Northwest with a
noticeable limp in his front leg. After testing at an orthopedic
specialist, he was diagnosed with Coccidia Mycosis, called Valley
Fever in humans, this is a serious fungal disease that affects dogs
joints and bones as well as other organs. Milo had severe pain from
the damage to his front leg bone and is being treated with a special
medication for the fungal disease. He is doing very well in his
foster home but will require medication and special care for the
rest of his life. Milo is ready to be adopted by the perfect home.
Shy Miss
Female
Age: 3
Color: Brindle
Shy is littermate to Boots, one of our special needs
Greyhounds who recently found his home. Shy like Boots broke
her rear leg and required surgery to repair the break. She
has had a special plate installed to support the bones in
her leg until they fully heal. She is no longer Shy and has
become a very outgoing and fun three year old.

Kathy is being treated with medication for high blood
pressure. Kathy is a very sweet lady who enjoys her walks
and hasn't found anything in life to throw her off her
happy-go-lucky course. She is very secure and a devoted
companion.
