The mission of Greyhound Pet Adoption Northwest is to find responsible loving homes for Greyhounds, which fail to qualify or no longer qualify for the racetrack. Greyhound Pet Adoption Northwest acquaints the public with the desirability of Greyhounds as pets and informs them of the availability of the dogs for adoption.
With the end of Greyhound racing and breeding in Oregon, most of our Greyhounds now come from states with racetracks such as Arizona, Kansas, Florida, and others, but we accept Greyhounds from any other state into our program. Some of our Greyhounds began racing in the USA but ended their career in Mexico at the Caliente’ racetrack in Tijuana Mexico. We work together with many people to transport and bring Greyhounds to their new homes here in the Northwest. We accept Greyhounds returned to animal shelters and those abandoned by their owners. No Greyhound is turned away from Greyhound Pet Adoption Northwest regardless of age, injury or where it began it’s life.
Who we are
