Greyhound Pet Adoption Northwest Mission Statement
The mission of Greyhound Pet Adoption Northwest is to find responsible loving homes for Greyhounds, which fail to qualify or no longer qualify for the racetrack. Greyhound Pet Adoption Northwest acquaints the public with the desirability of Greyhounds as pets and informs them of the availability of the dogs for adoption.
Most of the Greyhounds we place in homes began their lives here in Oregon but we also accept Greyhounds from any other state into our program. We accept Greyhounds returned to animal shelters and those abandoned by their owners. No Greyhound is turned away from Greyhound Pet Adoption Northwest regardless of age, injury or where it began it's life.
Who We Are
Greyhound Pet Adoption Northwest is a non-profit corporation and a tax-exempt organization. It is part of a national network of Greyhound adoption groups that follow the highest standards for the care of Greyhounds and adoption procedures. Your donations to Greyhound Pet Adoption Northwest are tax deductible and our Federal tax exemption number is available upon request by contacting our Treasurer.
Staffed entirely by unpaid volunteers; all donations and other revenues are dedicated entirely to supporting our Greyhound adoption program.
Greyhound Pet Adoption Northwest welcomes volunteers from all walks of life, regardless of whether they have adopted a Greyhound. All that is required is a love of animals, and a willingness to work.
Areas We Serve
Based in Portland Oregon with volunteers throughout Oregon and Southern Washington, Greyhound Pet Adoption Northwest serves Oregon, Southern Washington and Northern California. We have Volunteer groups established for events, adoptions and support in Portland, Bend, Salem, Eugene, Roseburg, Grants Pass, Medford and Vancouver WA. We can work with and support you in any area of Oregon and Southern Washington.
If you would like Greyhound Pet Adoption Northwest and the Greyhounds to come to your area, please contact us and let us know where you live. We have volunteers in many areas and we have a special program called Hounds Out & About that brings Greyhounds and trained placement volunteers to meet the public.
