Jim took his foster friends, Kathy and Charlie, to have their photos taken with Santa.
Monty is my angel boy. We picked him up at the Portland racetrack and recognized at once that he was/is the dog of our dreams.
Monty's best friend is a little 15 pound Bichon named Simon. Simon was a rescue from an awful kennel at age 9.
Rounding out the group is their kitty, Oscar who rules the roost.

Everyone loves Monty. He is outgoing and kind to all. He loves children and will lean on any adult for hours. Monty wants nothing more than to please us. People tell us how great we are to have adopted these dogs. Of course the truth is that we are the fortunate ones. We adopted Monty in 2002 when he was three. We are GPA supporters forever.

The long awaited arrival of the Greyhounds from Guam took place today, Wednesday March 10th. Eight happy Greyhounds got out of their motor home transport and had time to play in the yard for about an hour before six of them were loaded onto another motor home for the rest of their trip north. This ending to the dogs 6,000 mile journey from the US Territory of Guam marks a happy day in their new lives as pets.

Tim Gordon of KoinLocal6 News from Portland was there to film the arrival of the new hounds and interviewed GPA representatives and a representative from the GPA Greater Northwest chapter.
Tim also did a great story about GPA Northwest and our adoption program last year. He is becoming the Greyhound reporter for koinLocal6!

This interview and story is set to air on KoinLocal6 News Wednesday March 10th at the 5:00pm newscast. If you didn't see it live, check their archives for footage of the news piece.

There was a lot of great footage filmed by the news crew and we hope there will be some good images of the Greyhounds on TV.
The Greyhounds were particularly interested in the toy the cameraman was holding and several came to see if they could play with it.
The volunteers from GPA Greater Northwest spent time with their new dogs while they explored the turn out yard.

This is just a picture of all the activity going on in the background of the interviews. It's fun to see what you don't see on the TV presentation. Tim Gordon and his videographer were here for an hour and a half and took a lot of footage of the Greyhounds playing. From that hour and a half, the story will edit down to a short, concise piece on the 5 O'clock news!
