Bobby
“Bobby is a very calm, curious boy. He is not a dog who lacks confidence, but he looks to his person to lead him. He literally spends all day following directly behind me. You have to be careful because you can trip over him. If I’m working at my desk, he lays in the crate which is next to my desk. He will wander over at some point during the day to sleep on the couch.
He immediately jumped on my couch from the first to snuggle up next to me. He is always going to jump on furniture, so it’s best his adopters know this. Couches are where people sit and his goal in life is to be as close as possible to his people or where their smell is strongest. You can ask him to get off the couch and he’ll just stare at you. You push it, he’ll get off and then get right back on.
He’s been to the farmer’s market with me with lots of people and on hikes where there are all kinds of other dogs on the trails. He completely ignores other dogs, including yappy little dogs who lunge on leash at him. He likes to greet people and enjoys them petting him. He does try to mark everything, so it’s important to keep him in check there. He does not startle at loud or strange noises, so I think would do well in a city environment.
Bobby will do best in a home as a solo dog or maybe one of two. He completely ignores other dogs, so he’s not going to be a good companion for another dog. When sharing space with them, he can get grumpy, but that is mostly around treats. He doesn’t recognize toys as anything interesting at all. He’ll share a couch with my greyhound, but eventually he wanders to the other couch. He’s not into snuggling except with people.
Bobby needs a person or people he can bond strongly with. He could probably stand to be alone for a while during the day, but otherwise, he needs that human interaction and snuggle time with his people. He’s just wholly a people dog.”
