Chief

Chief is a gentle giant who loves to cuddle, and just wants to be near his person. He is generally very mellow, and enjoys snoozing throughout the day with bouts of mild (and adorable) excitement when he plays with his toys. He is a bit shy when meeting new people, but he warms up pretty quickly.

Even in the midst of bustling downtown noises and activity, Chief is amazing on a leash and makes sure to keep a perfect pace with you while walking. He is very interested in all the strange sights and sounds, but so far hasn’t appeared overly startled or scared of them, nor has he tried to chase after anything.

He has been living in an apartment environment with one human and no other pets and has done very well with that, so he would be great as an only dog. He’s also pretty quiet, and has really only barked when he wants to go outside (he’s fully potty-trained) or when he gets really playful. We are working on getting him to use his “inside voice” while being left home alone (he doesn’t get into anything or make any messes when he’s alone, just barks), and he does great being left in the car when I’ve had appointments or errands to run while he’s been with me.
